Continue ShoppingIn The Potter’s Hand Inc. offers full disclosure of every ingredient, additive and preservative used in the products because we believe that you have the right to know what you are using on your skin. This policy of disclosure and transparency gives you the opportunity to avoid your allergens, to make the best choice for yourself and protect your heath.
Most chemical compounds applied to the skin in the form of lotion, soap, hair care or skin care products can be absorbed through the skin and affect the body. Perfumes and perfume oils are especially problematic since they can also be absorbed by breathing in the aromatic chemicals they contain. Gluten, allergens or chemicals in items used on the hands, lips or face may cause problems for sensitive individuals when inadvertently transferred to the mouth and ingested.
When you purchase other brands of skincare, hair care, spa, bath or baby products there may also be hidden or unintentional ingredients in the products. These undeclared ingredients can be troublesome for your skin and even dangerous for those with severe allergies, celiac disease, asthma or chemical sensitivities.
There are no hidden ingredients in the products produced by In The Potter’s Hand Inc.
The team at In The Potter's Hand is committed to providing you and all of our customers with complete and accurate allergen information for every product we manufacture. We employ meticulous care with our production methods and offer full disclosure of all our ingredients; a rare occurrence in the skincare industry, where proprietary formulas and hidden ingredients are common. In addition to being free of undesirable and undeclared ingredients, the products comply with Feingold Standards, are never tested on animals, are biodegradable, vegetarian and made in the USA.
The use of separate production areas and equipment, no shared production lines, along with hand production of individual batches, maintains tight control over the quality and allergen status. The quality assurance practices and policies that we follow ensure the quality and purity of every product we make. We are unaware of any other company providing this level of attention to allergen status or transparency in production methods.

Corn derivatives are hiding everywhere, in foods of course, but also in the ingredients used to create products for hair and skin. These ingredients are so numerous and so ubiquitous that the search for corn free products becomes a huge struggle. Gluten-Free Savonnerie products do not contain any of these ingredients
We work closely with our suppliers to track allergens as we chose our ingredients; we also research and disclose the original sources used to manufacture the ingredients so that you can use Gluten-Free Savonnerie products with confidence.

Synthetic dyes and colorant chemicals are made from coal tar, a petroleum product; they often trigger contact dermatitis and are suspects in a variety of other health problems. Based on their dubious history in the research, we leave them out of our formulas and view them as entirely unnecessary ingredients.
People tend avoid dyes and colorants for many different reasons including:

Perfume, cologne, fragrance oils, essential oils, herbal scent, and masking fragrance are all names used to identify fragrances that permeate daily life. People generally enjoy them so the market has responded by adding them to almost everything. It makes sense to choose a scent that appeals to us, in the hope that it will appeal to those around us; or it makes sense until you find out that you have a problem with fragrance.
The reality is that perfumes and synthetic fragrance oils are a major cause of dermatitis, skin allergy or skin irritation, and the problem is growing. They can be composed of a wide variety of synthetic chemicals, including solvents and alcohols, herbal and other plant derived materials or even animal derived ingredients. The problem is compounded by the fact that there can be over a hundred different ingredients in some perfumes and the formulas are normally proprietary so you can never know exactly what they contain.
Fragrances can aggravate other health problems, contribute to depression and are a common cause of headaches. They may become a serious threat to people with chemical sensitivities, asthma or reactive airway disease. These examples are a sampling of why so many people find fragrances offensive and why some need to avoid them altogether.
